The StuG IV depicted here is fitted with the longer L/48, 75mm gun and spaced armor skirts. The suspension and the hull's flank are protected with spaced armor.  Spaced armor added some protechtions against normal rounds, but it was specially designed to defeat hollow or shaped charges fired from Bazookas and various other antitank weapons. Up to 80 mm of frontal armor where also added to the front along with Zimmerit  anti-magnetic coating.
